Courses for 8-13 year olds and more advanced courses for 14-18year olds take place during most school holidays. There are also occasional family woodland days. Please keep looking at web site for details.

Unless indicated otherwise please print the booking form complete it and send it attaching a cheque for the total amount to:

A receipt and joining instructions will be sent to you with a gift card if you have requested one. £20 of each course fee is non-returnable. The remaining amount will be refunded if you cancel at least 7 days before the event.

Children's Woodland Courses for 8-14 year olds.  10am – 3pm. (Except for 5/8)  £25.00 a day. 

Please note many children attend these days on their own and enjoy making new friends.

Every Children's Woodland course includes some shelter building, fire making and cooking.

Park in the lay-by at the top of Coleshill on the Highworth to Faringdon Road.

Tuesday 29th July.
Whistle and Music making.  Whittle a whistle, bang a drum, make and play a xylophone and make as much noise as you like!

Tuesday 5th August.  4.30pm to 9.30pm.  Parents and siblings welcome to join us for the last hour.
Fire Making, cooking, singing and night walk.  Make a fire, bring some sausages and a potato to cook for your tea.  Sing a few camp fire songs.  Explore the wood at night if you dare!  Bring a torch.

Stanton Park, Stanton Fitzwarren
Follow the signs towards Stanton House Hotel from the Swindon to Highworth Road.  Turn left into the park before you reach the hotel.  Meet in the car park. 

Wednesday 20th August
Mini beast safari.  Discover the mini beasts of the wood and pond dip to discover those of the lake and streams. 

Wednesday  27th August
Whittling and Walking Sticks.  Learn how to safely use a pen-knife to make your own walking stick.

Woodland Family Fun Days.  Cuckoo Pen, Coleshill.  10am to 3pm. Cost £10 per family member. £5 per family member  and priority booking for our friends group “The Cuckoos”.
Enjoy a relaxing day with your family learning new things together.  The days are for families with children of school age.  One adult to three children maximum. Please only bring children that are part of your family.  Put something you would like to cook on an open fire for your lunch. 

Sunday 24th August
Natural Food and Cooking.  Forage for food in the wood and share a box of Coleshill Organics Vegetables to cook a luscious lunch on an open fire.  Learn how to make a fire without matches.  There may also be an opportunity to continue with some shelter building.

Willow Craft Courses.  Stanton Park Ranger Centre.  10am – 4pm.   Cost £35.00 per person including materials.  Course are only suitable for accompanied children aged 12 and above.  Please bring a packed lunch.  Tea and coffee supplied.  Please bring secatures and a flat head screw driver.

Saturday 28th June.
Willow Sculptures.  Use basket willow to make a sculpture for your garden.  Have a go at making a swan, a cat or even a scare crow!  Each person will be able to take home one small sculpture.

Other services offered by Woodland Learning.

Birthday Parties.  Two hour long woodland birthday parties for children aged 6 upwards.  £10 per child.  Minimum charge £80.  Maximum number of children 10.  Food and invitations provided.  See web site or ring for further details.

Taylor Made Courses.  All of the above courses can be run for a special group, from cubs to a gardening club or PTA.  Please see web site or ring for further details.

Schools Service.  Help with school grounds development or special projects and assemblies.  Forest school and school trips.  Please see web site or ring for further details.
